Today I present to you the 13th day of my Bible art challenge.
Found in the book of Esther.
Mordecai was Esther’s guardian, who adopted her as a young child, since both of her parents died at a young age. He was actually Esther’s cousin and taught her the values of the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.
He was a key person in saving the then King Xerxes of Persia from being assassinated. He was not acknowledged until after one of the King’s chief advisors, Haman, tried to execute a plan which would annihilate the Jews. He is described as a person who has a strong connection with God and due to God’s favor, he became second in command to King Xerxes after the demise of Haman.
There are a lot of people in the bible that starts with the letter M, such as Moses and Malachi, but Mordecai stuck out the most for me at this time, because he was not a prophet or King, yet he has the favor of God in his life, due to his obedience and pleasing the Lord.
