Today I present to you the letter R
Found in Joshua 2:1-3; 6:17-25
Rahab was a prostitute who helped Joshua and the spies be led to safety, when she hid them from their enemies. She told them of hearing the stories of the Lord their God, how He took their ancestors out of Egypt through the parting of the Red Sea. She had the faith in their God that she would be okay and made a pact with them that herself and her family would not be destroyed once she hid them from their enemies. As a result of her faith, she was saved and became a part of the Israelite. She is the great grandmother of David and further down the line is in the genealogy of Christ.
This woman is one of my favorite characters. Even though she may be looked down upon in society, including today, God did not look at her appearance but her faith. Since she was saved from possible destruction, she no longer did prostitution, since she got married and as a blessing in the genealogy of Christ. I know she probably did not see this coming and is now noted as one of the pioneers of faith. Rahab was also featured in my “For a Single Purpose” project and it is great to feature her again . It is an honor. When Jesus comes back, she would be one of the people I would like to meet.
I hope you enjoyed this, just as much I enjoyed writing this. Show me that you do by putting a comment below! Thanks!
