For a Single Purpose: Joshua II (2013)
Author note: This is the last week of art story, ending tomorrow, Thursday the 2nd for a while. It should come back from hiatus with a new series. I got a lot of things planned behind the scenes offline, one of which is later this month; a live painting session. For tickets and other information, please click here.
I hope all is well with you! Today’s art story focuses on the second version of Joshua as he leads the remaining Israelites into the Promise land. As you know, all art stories featured on this blog is up for sale and a portion of those sales goes into the Cassondra Lenoir Scholarship Foundation. The Cassondra Scholarship Foundation is for first generation minority college students. The deadline is looming close; if you want to apply, please check out the link here. However, if you are not eligible, you can still make a difference by going to the Art Scholars Page. Invest in art, you are not just adding a work of fine art to your collection, you are also investing in the future of this nation.
What is the meaning behind this piece?
The meaning is mainly found in the book of Joshua. Joshua was led by faith as he led the Isrealites into the Promise land. I can only imagine how this man of God felt, as he had to deal with the constant complaints and doubts of the people he led. That’s what I can tell you.
I really don’t have much to say, because the piece can speak for itself. It did not take me long to create, because I had a focus on mind. I had to make sure I placed Joshua in front, so he can led by God and no one else.
That’s it for today. Interested in today’s piece, you can buy it through Art making Scholars Page or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Stay blessed!
For the love of God and art!
